9:00 AM  –  3:00 PM

The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Summer Camps are creative opportunities for hands-on learning. This STEM camp is designed for children in grades 1-4.

Why is the sky blue?  How high is the moon?  Where does the wind come from?  Could life be on other planets?  If you've ever wondered any of these questions, then this camp on space and the atmosphere is for you!

During Up, Up and Away!, children will:

  • Learn about what makes weather happens here on Earth and other planets
  • Hold a miniature hurricane in their hands
  • Experiment with flight and how to make objects float in the air!

Participants should bring a healthy snack and lunch. Please note that the Lab is a nut-free facility.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a program. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice.  No refunds will be processed within two weeks of the program start day.

  • The Children’s Science Center Lab is offering single-day camps during spring break for hands-on STEM learning with three camp themes. In each camp, children learn principles of science, design, and engineering, and apply their ingenuity to problem solve a creative challenge. The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Spring Break Camps are presented in partnership with Invent Now, a not-for-profit organization which operates the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Collegiate Inventors Competition.

    During the Castles and Catapults camp, children will:

    • Investigate basic scientific principles and enjoy creating and building to address engineering design challenges presented in the context of medieval times;
