The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Winter Break Camps are creative opportunities for hands-on learning. This STEM camp is designed for children in grades 1-4.

Ever wondered how a metal rod makes a *clang* or how a car goes *vroom*?  Ever wanted to make an instrument out of things you can find around the house?  The Sounds of Science Camp can answer all these questions and more!

During The Sounds of Science!, children will:

  • Hear, see and feel sound waves through solids, liquids, and non-Newtonian fluids.
  • Find out what creates sound and different pitches.
  • Build an electronic instrument to take home!

Participants should bring a healthy snack and lunch. Please note that the Lab is a nut-free facility.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a program. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice.  No refunds will be processed within two weeks of the program start day.

  • The Children’s Science Center Lab is offering single-day camps during spring break for hands-on STEM learning with three camp themes. In each camp, children learn principles of science, design, and engineering, and apply their ingenuity to problem solve a creative challenge. The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Spring Break Camps are presented in partnership with Invent Now, a not-for-profit organization which operates the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Collegiate Inventors Competition.

During the Castles and Catapults camp, children will:
