Sewing Circuits (6+ years)

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday April 1

10:30 AM  –  11:30 AM

A hands-on, family-style workshop that invites participants to combine science and art with both new and old technologies. Visitors will experiment with a battery, conductive thread, conductive tape, and an LED light to learn how to connect a circuit, and design a unique, artistically crafted item, such as a pillow, a stuffed bear, or even a superhero’s shield! Tools such as pliers, scissors, and sewing needles will help to affix the necessary components together, and a metal snap will connect the circuit in order to light up your creation!

Children may be dropped off for the workshop, or one parent or caregiver per each paid participant may accompany the child. Participants are invited to explore the Lab after the workshop. Children must be accompanied by their caregiver while enjoying the Lab exhibit areas. Additional family members may purchase General Admissions tickets at the door or in advance. Member discounts are applied at the time of purchase.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a workshop. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $5.00 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice. No refunds will be processed within 5 days of your workshop start day.
