Seasonal, full-day, school break STEM camp for children in grades 3 - 6.

The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Spring Break Camps are presented in partnership with Invent Now, a not-for-profit organization which operates the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Collegiate Inventors Competition.  

During Recycling Rocks! children will: 

  • Identify ways that waste makes its way into water systems and oceans; 
  • Examine ways to build machines to clean contaminants from water systems;  
  • Discover the use of eco-friendly, sustainable living through reducing, reusing, and recycling;  
  • Demonstrate how polluted waters can be cleaned by constructing filtration systems;  
  • Foster the practice of recycling and its importance in sustainable living;  
  • Investigate the pH of mock polluted water and the construction of inventions to clean up contaminated water. 

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a program. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice.  No refunds will be processed within two weeks of the program start day.
