Become a scientist in your very own kitchen! Did you know cooking is chemistry? Join us in exploring the science of mixing household ingredients together to create tasty treats, fun reactions, and electricity! Campers will:  

- Explore the chemistry of common baking supplies  

- Make pepper dance with the power of static electricity! 

- Create a fun toy using cornstarch 

- Make their own tasty experiment! 

This camp fulfills the Girl Scout Badge for Brownies, Home Scientist. A Children's Science Center Fun Patch is available for purchase.

How Do Virtual Camps Work?


Each day of virtual camp will consist of three hours of a structured Zoom session with fun science games, hands-on activities and an exciting science demonstration, animal encounter, or behind-the-scenes at the Lab experience led by our expert STEM educators.


Campers will receive a kit full of supplies for hands-on fun! Each kit will have all the materials necessary for the camp activities, along with additional fun activities and games to try on your own.


Kits will be available for contactless pick up Friday, December 18 from 4pm - 6pm, Saturday, December 19 from 10am - 12pm and Saturday, December 26 from 10am - 12pm. If you are joining us from out of town, we will provide a list of easy to locate ingredients that can be purchased online or at your local stores.


We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a program. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice.  No refunds will be processed within two weeks of the program start day
