Join us in the Lab for Kids Night “Soar Into STEM”! This is a night all about flight and movement for children in grades K-6! Topics and activities include aviation, engineering and flight. Guests will:
- design their own paper airplanes to reach optimal flying range and speed through the hula-hoop challenge. Participants discover that how far a paper airplane flies is determined by how much drag the plane experiences.
- collaborate with team members to create a safe and sturdy device that will allow their egg to land without cracking! This engineering challenge introduces students to physics, materials science, and much more!
- will create and collect data all about their jumping abilities! Everyone’s participation is needed in order to showcase the data on a graph. Again, physics, momentum and technique will be the variable.
All supplies, including eggs are provided along with dinner!
Pizza, fruit, drinks and dessert will be served in the Garage while enjoying theme related movies. Our experienced, knowledgeable team will then will assign your child to a flight crew, rotating through each gallery.
Participants may sign up with siblings or friends. Children will be checked in at Guest Services. Children will be checked out to the parent checking in, unless previously noted, at Guest Services.

Please note that this is a drop-off only event. If your child experiences separation anxiety or needs individual attention to eat or visit the bathroom, this event is not recommended.
Written notice is required one week prior to the program start date if you need to cancel your registration. A full refund will be provided less a $10.00 administrative fee. No refunds will be processed thereafter.
