The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Winter Break Camps are creative opportunities for hands-on learning. This STEM camp is designed for children in grades 1-4.

If you're curious about electronics and ever thought that all circuits look alike, this camp is a great opportunity for you!

During Got Electricity?, children will:

  • Explore the basics of electricity with different projects like making their own robot to take home.
  • Explore sewing circuits and paper circuits.
  • Understand the fundamentals of circuits and electricity by creating simple circuits out of various materials such as small motors, batteries, lights, and copper wire.
  • Discover new ways to innovate and create their own circuitry!  Take home circuit collection to continue the learning at home!

Participants should bring a healthy snack and lunch. Please note that the Lab is a nut-free facility.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a program. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice.  No refunds will be processed within two weeks of the program start day.

  • The Children’s Science Center Lab is offering single-day camps during spring break for hands-on STEM learning with three camp themes. In each camp, children learn principles of science, design, and engineering, and apply their ingenuity to problem solve a creative challenge. The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Spring Break Camps are presented in partnership with Invent Now, a not-for-profit organization which operates the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Collegiate Inventors Competition.

    During the Castles and Catapults camp, children will:

    • Investigate basic scientific principles and enjoy creating and building to address engineering design challenges presented in the context of medieval times;
