The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Winter Break Camps are creative opportunities for hands-on learning. This STEM camp is designed for children in grades 1-4.

Colors change, secret messages disappear, and chemical reactions bubble up in this experiment packed chemistry camp!

During Got Chemistry?, children will:

  • Experience mysterious chemical reactions that turn copper pennies into "gold and silver".
  • Work to create the best slime recipe in the camp in our own "Slime Factory".
  • Learn how to measure pH with foods and make rainbows with pH indicators.
  • Make and take home their own camp lab notebook, pH paper, slime, and alloy plated pennies!

* Allergy alert: Dairy products used in some experiments

Participants should bring a healthy snack and lunch. Please note that the Lab is a nut-free facility.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a program. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice.  No refunds will be processed within two weeks of the program start day.

In each camp, children learn principles of science, design, and engineering, and apply their ingenuity to problem solve a creative challenge. The Children's Science Center Lab's single-day Spring Break Camps are presented in partnership with Invent Now, a not-for-profit organization which operates the National Inventors Hall of Fame and Collegiate Inventors Competition.
