Children (Grades 2-5) with an optional engaged adult

Our exploration of sea life continues at the Children’s Science Center Lab! Encounter real-life banded dogwood cat sharks in a hands-on, family-style workshop. Learn about these special sharks by studying them up-close and personal. Discuss their habitats and how they adapt to their changing environment. Discover what you can do to help preserve their habitats, and the important role sharks play in the ecological health of our oceans. Investigate survival techniques of these sharks, and identify unique markings that distinguish individual sharks in the Children’s Science Center Lab’s Aquatic Life exhibit. Opportunities to feed, touch, and observe living sharks abound in this expert-led, marine life workshop.

Children may be dropped off for the workshop, or one parent or caregiver per each paid participant may accompany the child based on age. Participants are invited to explore the Lab after the workshop. Children must be accompanied by their caregiver while enjoying the Lab exhibit areas. Additional family members may purchase General Admissions tickets at the door or in advance. Member discounts are applied at the time of purchase.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a workshop. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $5.00 administrative fee if cancellation is requested with 5 days advance notice. No refunds will be processed within 5 days of your workshop start day.
