This event is no longer on sale.

Monday July 24

9:00 AM  –  3:00 PM

Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm

During The Launch Zone, children will:

  • Become an entrepreneur and bring an invention to a mock market;
  • Create duct tape money bags to hold their capital;
  • “Launch” their businesses and pitch their products to an audience of “investors”—their own families and friends!;
  • Explore National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees and NASA engineers who have designed and built telescopes, rockets, and observed planets outside of our solar system;
  • Build a space rocket as they investigate rocket science;
  • Protect their team’s Space Lab from a meteoroid storm, search for fallen meteorites, and identify their type;
  • Dissect appliances, using tools correctly and safely to investigate how machines work through the process of reverse engineering;
  • Explore how their machine pieces and parts might be used in a Spy Gadget Alarm Box;
  • Express ideas through writing and sketching in their Inventor Logs;
  • All modules align with national and state education standards and are designed to meet the needs of varying age groups through primary and intermediate activities.  The Center offers separate camp sessions for grades 1-3 and grades 3-6 in different weeks.

Participants are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and snacks. A complimentary pizza lunch will be provided on the last day of the camp. The Lab is a nut-free facility.

This is a drop-off program. Participants and one caregiver are invited to explore the Lab after camp hours free of charge. Additional family members may purchase their General Admission ticket at the door or in advance. Children must be accompanied by an adult while enjoying the Lab exhibit areas.

Member discounts are applied at checkout.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a camp session. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10.00 administrative fee if cancellation is by June 1, 2017.  No refunds will be processed thereafter.
