Camp Invention: Creativity In Motion (Rising Grades 3-6)

Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm 

During Camp Invention:  Creativity In Motion, children will: 

  • Work as “design interns” for the world’s newest and largest imaginary amusement park, Imagination Point; 
  • Use their creativity and imaginations to design prototypes of roller coasters and other rides; 
  • Take apart electronics to build new inventions; 
  • Use real tools to uncover mechanical gears and guts and upcycle them into exciting new innovations; 
  • Use STEM, creative problem solving, and hands-on applications to further their 21st-century critical thinking skills; 
  • Work in teams to create marketing to sell their invention to your peers; 
  • Keep an Inventor Log to track their progress; 
  • Apply for and receive a mock patent for their invention; 
  • Rebuild a cleaner, more eco-friendly city that has been polluted to the point of ruin; 
  • Investigate and demonstrate the actions that polluted the city; 
  • Determine effective methods to clean it up; 
  • Explore “green” city design, water filtration systems, safe waste disposal, conservation techniques, and renewable energy as they reconstruct a new city; 
  • Explore the world of science fiction; 
  • Attribute listing, force-fitting, and brainstorming through hands-on construction problems; 
  • Opportunities for constructing opportunities, exploring data, framing problems, generating ideas, developing solutions, and building acceptance; 
  • All modules align with national and state education standards and are designed to meet the needs of varying age groups through primary and intermediate activities.  

Participants are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and snacks. A complimentary pizza lunch will be provided on the last day of the camp. The Lab is a nut-free facility.

This is a drop-off program. Participants and one caregiver are invited to explore the Lab after camp hours free of charge. Additional family members may purchase their General Admission ticket at the door or in advance. Children must be accompanied by an adult while enjoying the Lab exhibit areas.

We require written notice if you need to withdraw from a camp session. Please send written notice by email requesting the withdrawal. A full refund will be provided less a $10.00 administrative fee if cancellation is by June 1, 2017.  No refunds will be processed thereafter.
